The Navajo County Sheriff’s Posse is the authorized volunteer Search and Rescue organization serving under the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office. Our members support emergency response, rescue operations, and public safety efforts across Navajo County, working alongside law enforcement and partner agencies.

We are a volunteer organization established to support Search & Rescue in Navajo County and throughout the State of Arizona at a moments notice. Serving under the authority of the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office, the Posse brings together trained and certified volunteers ready to assist in emergencies where access and terrain present unique challenges.

Late January 2027

Annual Pony Express Ride

Each year the Posse rides more than 200 miles on horseback from Holbrook to Scottsdale, carrying mail and raising funds for Search and Rescue. Our next ride takes place at the end of January 2027.
